Tracy Tingle Memorial Fund... Super Simple Fundraiser...
The Smalltown Community Fundraising Program is a easy way for friends of local nonprofits to fundraise by simply submitting a brief review of a local restaurant, shop, park, or other location in San Mateo or Burlingame – the places we all go everyday!

For each review you submit, the Tracy Tingle Memorial Fund will receive $3 from www.smalltown.com. Supporters can raise up to $30 each by writing 10 reviews. At the end of each month, the Tracy's fund receives a check. Its that easy.

About Tracy
Tracy was born in Garland, North Carolina in January of 1957. Growing up in a small southern town in the 1960s and 70s allowed Tracy to develop a rather unique combination of the wonderful southern qualities of amiability and genuine warmth, with a deeply held notion of social justice. After high school graduation, Tracy left Garland to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There he decided to major in geology because it was the only field in which “you got paid to go camping.” Tracy completed his PhD at The University of California at Davis, where he is deeply respected, and warmly remembered.

Tracy’s love for geology was born of a love for the earth and all of the adventure and beauty it has to offer. He was an avid and accomplished cyclist, hiker, and white water kayaker; and a less accomplished, though no less enthusiastic, climber and outdoor photographer. “Anything less than excess is not enough,” was one of Tracy’s most memorable mottos, and best describes the enthusiasm with which he approached his outdoor adventures.

While geology and outdoor adventures were Tracy’s second and third loves, his strongest love was for his family and friends. There was no friend, brother, father, uncle or husband more loving, loyal, or true than Tracy. You could count on him to haul you out of a raging river, or be a loving compassionate friend in times of emotional upheaval. No matter what the crisis, there was never a question that Tracy would be there for you.

Tracy died in October 1996 after a brief battle with melanoma. He is sorely missed.
